The Colours Are Quilted is about turning your cherished clothing full of memories into a heirloom quilt.
What is needed?
For a basic design quilt, you will need to supply a minimum of 15 garments for the best results. The pictured samples were made with an average of 15 garments and 1 bunny rug/swaddle blanket. A contrasting fabric can be supplied if you do not have the minimum of 15 garments.
Additional appliqué items such as hats, bib, socks, mittens and booties can be added at an additional cost.
Any unused garments will be returned to you with your completed quilt. Garment scraps will not be returned.
Quilts have 100% cotton batting and backing fabric in a complimentary colour to you garments. All quilts will be quilted with hand ties to keep the fabric supple and soft.
Base design quilts are $300 completed. Any additional applique or special requests will be added on top of this price and discussed before the start of the quilt being made.
A deposit of 50% is required prior to your quilt being started and the balance to be settled before your quilt is delivered.
Quilts are approx. 100cm x 120cm. Please note these dimensions are an approximation due to the nature of repurposing garments into a quilt.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a deposit of 50% and will be held for a two-week period while we wait for your precious garments to arrive to us. If no items arrive then we will contact you for an update or to arrange refund.
